| The Associate of Arts in Psychology & Mental Health Studies
(Diploma in Psychology) program is specially devised for young learners, preparing them
for advanced tertiary studies in the vibrant field of psychology. The American-based
curriculum focuses on psychological theories applied to individuals, couples, families
and groups. Our innovative, engaging program creates a foundation for making knowledge
work in the real world (see Testimonies). The program is delivered by practicing
professional counselors and provides dynamic experiential learning centered on the
application of theory to real-life situations. The Associate of Arts program places its
graduates in advanced standing for a degree in psychology. |

This is a 2-year full time program with daily lectures,
tutorials and practicum sessions totaling 1,800 contact hours.

| The College’s training approach is based on adult experiential
learning principles in which the student is regarded as the most important ingredient in
the learning process. The curriculum and interactive learning environment provide the
opportunity to discuss, apply, test, reflect, evaluate and acquire hands-on skills. You
are also required to do a large part of your study in your own time. Skills gained can be
introduced immediately into the students’ personal and academic lives. |

Students undertake assessments at the end of each module, not end
of term examinations, to demonstrate knowledge, competence and understanding. Assessments
enable application and reflection on skill development. Students are assessed using a
variety of methods including tests, essays, interviews, videotaped role-plays, and
module-specific projects. Upon successful completion of the 2-year program, students
will be awarded both the Associate of ArtsT in Psychology & Mental Health Studies by
the American University for Humanities and the Diploma in
Psychology by LEE Community College.

In the US, an Associate of
Arts Degree is equivalent to the Singapore Standard Diploma, which is an undergraduate
program.

| Applicants should be at least 17 years of age and possess at
least 5 ‘O’ level credits, including English or an equivalent recognized qualification.
In lieu of the academic qualifications, applicants will be considered on a case-by-case
basis and if admitted will be required to take up a 6-month bridging course with LEE
Community College. |

The College undertakes the application of student passes for foreign students at a
nominal fee of S$100, only upon receipt of the registration fee and downpayment. Foreign
students are responsible to duly submit all necessary documentation for this purpose.
While the College will make every effort to apply the student passes, successful
applications are at the sole discretion of the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority
of Singapore (ICA).
In the event that the student pass application is not approved by the ICA, 90% of
the downpayment will be refunded. However, the nominal fee and registration fee are
non-refundable.

In the event of deferment, students will have to officially give the College 14 days’
written notice with supporting documentation, failing which the refund policy applies.
