| The Diploma in Family Life Education program is designed to provide the skills and knowledge to enrich the individual as well as family life. It includes knowledge about how families work, the inter-relationship of families and society, human growth and development throughout the life span, the physiological and psychological aspects of human sexuality, the impact of money and time management on daily family life, the importance and value of parent education, the effects of policies and legislation on families, and ethical considerations in professional conduct (see Testimonies). Students will also be equipped with a solid understanding and knowledge of how to teach and/or develop curriculums for what are often sensitive and personal issues. |

Parents, single parents, teachers, day-care providers, volunteers at charity organizations, human resource personnel and social workers will all benefit from this program.
* This diploma may not qualify anyone to set up a private counseling practice. Employment is solely at the discretion of the employer. |

| This is a 10-month part time program with once-a-week lectures, practicum and fun learning from 7pm to 10pm, totaling 180 contact hours. |
|
|
| The program will examine family life education as a career field and as a service to families. It will also review both theoretical and empirical literature on the lifespan, family life and parenting education and explore the implications of the literature. A combination of lectures, self-assessment tools and role play will be used. There will also be practice sessions with families. |

| Students undertake assessments at the end of each module, not end of term examinations, to demonstrate knowledge, competence and understanding. Assessments enable application and reflection on skill development. Students are assessed using a variety of methods including tests, essays, interviews, videotaped role-plays, and module-specific projects. Upon successful completion, students will be awarded the Diploma in Family Life Education by Lee Community College, in collaboration with Eden Community Services Centre. |

| Applicants should be at least 25 years of age and possess at least 3 'O' level credits, including English or an equivalent recognized qualification. In lieu of the academic qualifications, mature applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All applicants have to be interviewed. |

- The monthly installment rate of $396 is calculated based on the loan amount of $3,852 on a 10 months tenure.
- Above calculations are for illustration purpose only. The monthly installment amounts shown should not be taken as the actual amounts payable. Applicants will have to consult the bank for exact installment amount based on their loan amount and tenure.
- Promotional rates apply for participating institutions only.
- The effective interest rate is 5.88% p.a. Interest is calculated on a reducing monthly rest basis.
- This education loan is open to part-time local students.
- Both Borrower and Guarantor must have a minimum income of at least S$12,000 per annum.
- The loan amount granted is at the sole discretion of the bank. LEE Community College does not guarantee and is not responsible for the granting of the loan and the loan amount granted by the bank. In principle, it has been set by the bank at 6 times your monthly income or up to S$50,000, whichever is lower
